SANTA CLARA & LOS ANGELES -- Macrovision Corporation (NASDAQ:MVSN) and Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc. (NASDAQ:GMST) today announced the two companies have signed a definitive agreement for Macrovision to acquire Gemstar-TV Guide in a cash and stock transaction.
