LAGUNA HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 1999--

Eldorado Bancshares Inc. (Nasdaq:ELBI) today announced earnings for the quarter ended September 30, 1999.

Robert Keller, the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "The strong performance by our core banking units was partially offset by poor operating results at our mortgage banking division."

Excluding the effects of the mortgage division, the Company's earnings for the quarter ended September 30, 1999, would have been $2.5 million, an increase of $1.0 million, or 66.7 percent, from $1.5 million for the comparable quarter of 1998.
