Cooper Industries Reports Strong Third Quarter Results.
Revenues Increased 8.2 Percent And Earnings Per Share From Continuing Operations Increased 25 Percent
DUBLIN -- Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE) reported that third quarter 2010 earnings per share from continuing operations increased 25 percent to $.85 (diluted) compared with $.68 per share for the third quarter of 2009. Third quarter 2010 revenues were $1.24 billion compared with $1.15 billion for the same period last year, excluding Tools segment revenue in 2009, with core revenue growth of 8.3 percent. For the quarter currency translation reduced reported revenues by 0.9 percent and acquisitions added 0.8 percent compared to the prior year."In the third quarter, we reported the highest core growth rate we have experienced in nearly three years, demonstrating the strength of our portfolio of businesses and success of our key initiatives.
