COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 1998--Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation (NYSE: CDE) today reported a fourth quarter 1997 net loss of $5.8 million, or $0.27 per share, compared to net income of $.3 million, or $0.01 per share, during the same period a year ago.
After quarterly dividends to preferred shareholders, a loss attributable to common shareholders in 1997's fourth quarter amounted to $8.5 million, or $0.39 per share, compared to a loss of $2.3 million, or $0.11 per share, during the fourth quarter of 1996. For the year ended December 31, 1997, the Company reports a net loss of $14.1 million, or $0.64 per share ($1.12 per share attributable to common shareholders) compared to a net loss of $54.6 million, or $2.54 per share ($2.93 per share attributable to common shareholders), for the previous year.
