NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 1997--The CIT Group Holdings Inc., one of the nation's largest commercial and consumer lending organizations, today reported record net income of $260.1 million for the year 1996, a 15.5 percent increase from the $225.3 million reported for 1995.
