Church & Dwight Reports Second Quarter Earnings of $0.54 Per Share; Company Raises Annual EPS Objective.

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Church & Dwight (NYSE:CHD) today reported net income for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 of $36.4 million or $0.54 per share, an increase of $0.03 or 6% over the $34.4 million or $0.51 per share for the comparable period of 2005. This year's results included a $2.8 million pretax ($1.7 million after tax) or $0.02 per share stock option charge following the Company's adoption of accounting standard SFAS 123R. Excluding this item, second quarter earnings would have been $0.56, a $0.05 per share or 10% increase over the previous year.

Net income for the six months ended June 30, 2006 rose to $76.4 million or $1.14 per share, an increase of $0.07 per share or 7% over last year's $72.1 million or $1.07 per share. Excluding a stock option charge of $4.8 million pretax ($3.0 million after tax) or $0.04 per share, earnings for the first six months of 2006 would have been $1.18 per share, a $0.11 per share or 10% increase over the previous year.
