KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BW HealthWire)--Jan. 31, 2001 Cerner Corporation (Nasdaq:CERN) today announced record results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 30, 2000. The fourth-quarter diluted earnings per share were $.21, excluding the impact of non-recurring items. The First Call consensus analyst earnings per share estimate for the 2000 fourth quarter had been $.19. This marks the fifth consecutive quarter in which the company has exceeded consensus estimates. Cerner also said that it is raising its guidance for earnings per share in 2001 and is now comfortable with analyst estimates in the range of $0.80 to $0.85, up from the previous range of $0.75 to $0.80 and that it is comfortable with analysts' revenue estimates for the 2001 year in the range of $480 to $490 million, up from previous analyst estimates of $450 to $460 million.
