HEMET, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 1997--For the first quarter of the 1998 fiscal year (quarter ended Sept. 30, 1997), HF Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ:HEMT), the holding company for Hemet Federal Savings & Loan, reported net income of $502 thousand, or 8 cents earnings per share, up 10.82 percent from $453 thousand, or 8 cents per share, during the same period in the prior year, when there were a smaller average number of shares outstanding.
